it isn't in our nature to think of a God, it is in our nature to seek answers and the concept of God is most influenced in this world.

The Egyptian pyramids were built by paid laborers. No slaves involved, especially Jewish ones.

So i had a discussion with my dad about religion and im sure you know how that went. But it ended with the xian argument of ignorance - "How on earth were they able to create the pyramids?", im sure yall are familiar with that claim which has been answered by historians. So it led me to think, because of the discoveries in mechanics that have led us to have the mechanics that we have now, were our minds better? and have gotten worse? OR are we better now and are simply progressing? or are we the same?

The part of being the same is a bit misleading:
See, when we were in the ancient greek times, they would agree to be intelligent based on the technology they had back then. As well are we in the same position based on what we have but what about the next thousand years?

What are your thoughts?

Different strokes for different folks. They built pyramids; we build space stations. They rode horses and camels. We ride in cars and fly in airplanes.

actually slaves were involved, i mean, the basis for egypts construction was slavery. at least thats one thing the bible is correct about hah
in fact, most of the ancient civilizations like greece and rome all had slavery at one point, before engineers were brought into the picture which then gets the fancy name of "paid laborers" as you speak of.

well actually slaves did not get paid, they were just housed with basic living needs like food and shelter. unless you consider that a payment...

1. The human mind is likely getting worse on average. Technological advances which increase survival have logically reduced the effect of natural selection. If you need proof, go to youtube.

2. The pyramids were largely built by laborers, not slaves. The agricultural system was based on the annual flooding of the Nile, and so there were long stretches when agricultural workers didn't have much to do. Graffiti and, more recently, graves of pyramid laborers support this position.

your bible is crawling with slaves, its no question even with history that there were slaves involved.

Regarding the pyramids, humans were once much stronger than we are today. Just look at the strength of chimps who eat mostly fruit, or gorillas who eat mostly plants. These are our ancestors/cousins. I read an article the other day that gorillas do not suffer from muscle-wasting like humans do i.e. unlike humans who have to keep exercising to retain muscles, gorillas can lounge around all day and not lose a thing.

In the 1930s Dr Francis Pottenger did experiments on cats that demonstrated a physical decline over a few generations when cats' diets were denatured. A similar thing has happened with humans under civilisation.
