My Experience at ChristianForums.com

RE: My Experience at ChristianForums.com
It's weird to think that advertisers are renting space on a site that offers a community of people a place to chat about something that never happened. lol
Anyway, I still can't post! Going to the gym instead. Maybe it's for the best. Big Grin

lol!!!!! OMG, that's hilarious. You haven't even been on there.

Well, I got an email that I'm now activated. I got to pick out my own avatar, which I wasn't happy about having to choose a 'default' one. I introduced myself...and honestly? My only thing would be to answer questions about atheism, if they have any. I remember during my Christian days, thinking that atheism was 'the enemy' of religion, but it really isn't.

The more you know................

Anyways, my name is Deidre32 there too. Angel

Oh, I figured out the blessings thing. I looked at mine, and you have a checking and savings ''account,'' that the blessings work through ...and you can purchase stuff using the blessings? Is this real life? Big Grin

I haven't seen any sections for atheists to discuss things, mostly Christian topics.

I'm Beccs there, too (highly original, I know).

Seems my previous las visit was back in September so I had stuck my nose in more recently than I realised. But I don't think I've posted for a couple of years

RE: My Experience at ChristianForums.com
You know, I'm looking through some of the topics, and wow...I didn't expect to feel bad about it. Bad meaning, I remember talking like that, thinking like that. The whole Christian 'way' is different, when you're into it. I don't miss it, I wouldn't never go back, I don't believe what I once did anymore--but I just had a wave of weird memories flood back reading this one person's page. She visited mine, just said hello. And the people are talking about death, and how they will see their families one day again 'with Jesus.' That is tough to read, not because I miss that life, but because it's not true. Sad

It's just not true. All this wasted hope people have, and it's just not true. Ugh. Sad

I used to belong to a site where you had to be invited into their super awesome members-only club section before they would let you have an avatar. And in order to get invited into the super awesome members-only area you basically had to not ever piss anyone off, like, ever.

Needless to say, I was not invited, despite being told by many members that I was a good poster. Whatever.

I'm suspicious of forums that don't let you have an individualized avatar right away now. What's the point of limiting avatars? It makes recognizing other posters so much faster... especially if they don't change their avatar.

Asswipes.

That's probably what they needed afterwards.

Lol You guys are funny. Big Grin

I was wrong about the avatar. My registration wasn't complete yet and since it is now, I could select my own.

Ya know, everyone has been very nice. Quite a few atheists there and there is some lively debate in the American politics section. There are many sections that I find myself avoiding altogether but there are some sections that welcome debate from non Christians, so that's cool.

I'm reminded that when I followed faith, I wouldn't have wanted someone to come at me strong whether atheist or otherwise.

I like this blessing thing. It's all good. Big Grin

There are some kind people there and it isn't for me to judge them. Anyway, that's my take.

I remember when I was a part of a Christian online community a long time ago and the members there were horrid to non Christians and atheists. I think here if you show respect, it will be returned.

This site seems vastly differently but time will tell like with all things.

God? When did you become an atheist?
