Yep! That's it. I sometimes do, too. Temporary physical change, nothing lasting.
This is why sex "addicts" are chronically depressed. All that sex isn't helping them.

Just came across this study that says that spirituality can offer protection against depression.

A thickening of parts of the brain cortex associated with regular meditation or other spiritual or religious practice could be the reason those activities guard against depression – particularly in people who are predisposed to the disease, according to new research. Researchers studied 130 subjects and found that those who highly valued spirituality showed thicker portions of brain cortices that may protect against depression -- especially in those at high risk for the disease.

I just seems very odd to me that so many Atheists are depressed. When I officially quit believing I felt better.
I know that I am in control of me and not some god.

No, I'm not depressed. I think that the amount of people on here that seem to either be depressed or have some other form of mental illness has more to do with internet addiction than atheism.

As a former Christian and now an Atheist I can say that you can quit believing in god because it's just in your head.

As a former depressed I can say the same thing about depression. It's in your head.

OK that was fun to say because I felt high and mighty doing it but I do acknowledge that some people do have a medical condition.

Mental illness is a serious matter. I don't doubt the authenticity of people's illness on here. I do, however, find that there is a strong link between internet addiction and depression symptoms.
