Creationist Senators block fossil bill

They should have blocked this bill, not because of religious reasons obviously, but because it is pointless. I'm sorry, but our state legislatures do not exist for the purpose of making eight year old girls feel good and special. Every state has a bunch of pointless state symbols, with no reason for making them other than to boost some politician's poll numbers by making some idiot feel overly proud of the region he was born/lived in. And all they do is clog up the system too. Both parties in SC are just going to grandstand on their position and take up time that could be used solving real problems for an ultimately pointless designation of a fossil.

Ah well, it's hardly the only thing you don't think about, I'm sure.

In countries where islam is really an issue they kill you for being anything but a muslim. And if most atheists are as fussed about it as I am they just go along with it.
