RE: Near death experiences

I was pushed under water at a water park in Washington when I was on a girl scout trip. I remember swimming across the pool, then suddenly being under water and seeing legs and red swim trunks, then I surfaced and realized something was wrong. Then under and up a couple more times then nothing. Then being out of the water on the concrete coughing up water with my sister and a couple of her friends around looking concerned.
That's the closest I've com to a NDE but nothing else really happened and I don't really consider it anything other than a close call.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

I'm really accident prone, but there is only one instance that stands out. I was in fifth grade (I think..) and was about to iron the project I was working on, when I saw that someone had melted a corner of the extension cord with an iron. Curious as I was, I wanted to see what it looked like from the inside.. with a needle. Soon enough I got a shock that sent me flying/falling backwards and I blacked out, but I regained consciousness just moments later (or at least I think so) and thought to myself: "Yeah, I now see why my parents always said to be careful with electric stuff!"
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

That reminds me of something stoooopid I did when I was 15.
I built one of these in electronics shop (a Jacob's Ladder):
It's basically a couple of electrodes hanging off a step-up transformer. 22,000 volts worth, if I recall correctly.
So I remember thinking to myself "I wonder if it's hot enough to set a pencil on fire?"
Pro-tip: a #2 pencil will conduct electricity when 22kV is applied.
I have to say, it was one of the most unique sensations I have ever felt. Do NOT try it at home.

That does not support your contention:
"Actually, Protestantism and Judaism have a higher percentage of pastors/rabbis who molest children than Catholicism."
Try again.

A Penn State historian, Philip Jenkins, has done an in depth research of pedophilia and sexual abuse among the clergy and has come up with some rather eye opening facts. It seems that while 1.7 percent of Catholic clergy have been guilty of pedophilia (or sexual abuse particularly of boys), a whopping TEN percent of Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia!

A few emails is not evidence. Do you not know what asking for a citation means?
It means that you are being asked to reference a credible study published in a professional journal.
Try again.

Are you an idiot?
You are the one making claims. The burden of proof is yours.
Put up or shut up.

Nope! I can share the information as I please and I will regardless of how much you bitch. Take it up with Penn state Historian Philip Jenkins. If you're interested in the truth you can find it fairly easily. Quit your bitching.
