Why do Christians pray for God's intervention? If he wasn't going to intervene one his own, he's powerful enough to fix the problem, and he can see the future, didn't he, by very definition cause or allow the problem in the first place?

If he cause or allowed it and will only fix it if he prays, isn't he causing or allowing problems for the sole purpose of hoping you'd ask him to fix them?
