Hence the term "hypothetical". That said, to paraphrase Voltaire - he won't mind - if JC didn't exist (and he almost certainly didn't) it would be necesary to invent him. I'm just entertaining a curiosity here.

It was already in God's plan but, hypothetically, I guess if Jesus didn't die to atone for our sins we would have had to wait a bit longer for the one that would. And on top of that claim of this entity, this cognition has magical powers beyond what science says and also defies evolution and nature. WHAT WE DO HAVE abundant evidence of are dead myths and dead claims of deities no one believes in anymore. We also know literally in a scientific sense that people ARE capable of believing false things (not just on the issue of religion). So please don't insult us by saying we don't know either. YES we do know, you simply do not want to face facts. Do not blame us for a book we had no hand in writing back in an age of scientific ignorance. Just like you know the earth is not flat, and just like you know the Yankees don't play ice hockey. |
