Cool. And what have you done lately?

As a side note to busting your balls, this is a discussion forum; if you come here expecting something more than talk, then you will be let down every time.

Off you go then.

And before you ask the obvious question: I teach adult students how to read and write in my spare time.

I'm not the one who determines God's plan, I'm glad that He is just throughout His plan. No one is promised another day, I think it's great that God takes these little ones to live eternally with Him. Would you rather they be in hell?

Kita Wrote:False, you know nothing of the sort. You merely have deluded yourself into thinking your god is real because you prefer the comfortable lie of religion over the harsh truth of reality that no god exists.

If your god could be proven to exist, we would not be having this conversation, because it is apparent that simply believing for the sake of believing is not proof of anything except deluding one's self that it exists.

You do not have any idea what I know, just because you ignore God doesn't mean He's not real, it's not my fault you choose to reject Him. Please explain why reality would be harsh without God, I'm curious as to why you would choose a harsh life over a life full of God's love. You have made not believing for the sake of not believing your proof that God doesn't exist.

GC

We do not ignore a god - YOU have yet to prove a god exists
Until you do - you are just another scam artist selling a way for some to make incredible amounts of money -= and live high in the dole - and they have NOTHING they can prove is true - you are simply a deluded CROOK - or VICTIM

We already KNOW - and the majority of the major christian sects have accepted - that evolution is the process for the s[reading and diversity of life on earth - when People say that the world was created just as the bible says - they are simply establishing their own stupidity. WE also know that much of the bible is MYTH and LEGEND - there is NOT a single mention of
the christ in the historical record of his supposed time -NONE at all.

Would YOU accept a line from the Koran as Proof that your god is false and theirs is true? NO So - why do you quote the bible when we do not accept that as being true UNLESS it can be independently verified. IF you have proof - we want PROOF of the level that YOU WOULD REQUIRE to accept that your god is false and another is true - yet you offer nothing but little boy deluded statements - have no knowledge of science that proves much of the bible false.

The problem with religion is that it is NOT moral or ethical - it is a ponzi scheme. AND YES - I can say that - because religion reaches that morality requires a reward for being good - and a punishment for being bad - when the reality it - you should do the right thing for the most basic right reason - simply because it is the right thing to do. If you need to be bribed - than you are not being moral

Yes there is. At the very least Peter and John were companions of Jesus: or do christians not qualify as historians? Can I only believe non-christian historians? You just choose not to believe them and that's your prerogative.

Way to mischaracterize historical consensus.

Peter and John were not historians. Roman historians have no record of Jesus.

And Peter and John in the bible are based entirely on hearsay which my not have even come from Peter or John originally.

Quote:Epistles of John: Scholars tell us the epistles of John, the Gospel of John, and Revelation appear so different in style and content that they could hardly have the same author.

the epistles of John say nothing about seeing an earthly Jesus. Not only do we not know who wrote these epistles, they can only serve as hearsay accounts. [2]

Epistles of Peter: Many scholars question the authorship of Peter of the epistles. Even within the first epistle, it says in 5:12 that Silvanus wrote it. Most scholars consider the second epistle as unreliable or an outright forgery

In short, no one has any way of determining whether the epistles of Peter come from fraud, an author claiming himself to know what Peter said (hearsay), or from someone trying to further the aims of the Church. Encyclopedias usually describe a tradition that Saint Peter wrote them. However, whenever you see the word "tradition" it refers to a belief passed down within a society. In other words: hearsay. [3], [4]

In other words, you choose to believe, without being able to support your belief.

There's no choice on our part to disbelieve your claims that aren't supported by the historical evidence.

You might as well whine that we've chosen not to believe you have an invisible humanoid rabbit friend named Harvey who tucks you in every night.

Somehow I've got this little feeling deep inside that you don't like me! I'm definitely no saint, but I do TRY to help others. Believe me. I am trying.

Nah - let him
1 - Cure Cancer
2 - Cure aids
3 - end sexual crimes against women and chikdren
4 - End war
5 - End murder

ANd let him do it overtly - let him show up at a Baseball game and perform these miracles - in front of the world - on the Maxi Screen - and in Public.

After all - a loving god would NOT be infavor of cancer - or aids - or sexual crimes against women - or war - or murder. So if he does not do it - we either accept that the god is a bastard - or it does not exist

Do it this WEEKEND - and don't tell me that is not how it works.

They qualify as historians in much the same way that Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley would qualify as historians for the Harry Potter books.

Using the bible to prove the bible, or Harry Potter books to prove Harry Potter books, is about as circular reasoning as you can get.
