This amazing and wonderful world we live in is incredible and speaks volumes on what a great Creator we have.
You see why such statements are dangerous, MK? You never know what kind of lunatic might be reading them!

I was just pointing out to MysticKnight that you have to consider the bad with the good. Is that emotional? It's not concerning touchy feely things like the bad stuff you mention. Natural disasters and nature in full force, natural disasters down to how stuff works has no personal reference at all. You have to get past egocentricity to appreciate it in some cases.

Sure, it's emotional. Feeling awe is in itself an emotional response.

Good on you Mystic Knight. That there is anything at all let alone all this is indeed marvelous. Awe has its season as does the mundane. I don't see the harm in pausing to appreciate moments of awe. It is at least as valid as ho hum even if more fleeting.

"Awe is difficult to define, and the meaning of the word has changed over time. Related concepts are wonder, admiration, elevation, and the sublime. In Awe: The Delights and Dangers of Our Eleventh Emotion, neuropsychologist and positive psychology guru Pearsall presents a phenomenological study of awe. He defines awe as an "overwhelming and bewildering sense of connection with a startling universe that is usually far beyond the narrow band of our consciousness." Pearsall sees awe as the 11th emotion, beyond those now scientifically accepted (i.e., love, fear, sadness, embarrassment, curiosity, pride, enjoyment, despair, guilt, and anger).”Most definitions allow for awe to be a positive or a negative experience, but when asked to describe events that elicit awe, most people only cite positive experiences."

Yes, being human on this planet is quite the extraordinary opportunity but no reason to treat it like phenomena. All things have an explanation and it doesn't make it less beautiful that it is explained.

What I find most awe inspiring is that no god was required.

that the problem is MK spoke the truth. Weather you believe or not isn't the point.
One of the biggest problem I have with my fellow atheist is that they don't care what the truth is if it leads to a conclusion that is different than theirs. A loser I know by the name a teeblow does this. He once said I shouldn't point something out because it may be divisive to the atheist cause.
Wow I said ... the evidence is evidence. and misusing using it or twisting it makes us just like them. Poof, on his ignore list I went. That meant I was on the right track. Line up the data, draw a conclusion based on it and it alone. He was the kind that would put down this kind of "awe" of MK because it might be a fact that gets in the way of his option.
finding truth is finding truth. A personal belief about no god is irrelevant to that goal.

lol, your comment was fine.
It aint you on this one guy. This is an example of when people find out I am atheist I have to say ... "No, I am not one of them kind, they are as bad as religious fundamentalist."
