Because they just know. Those who are so adamant about their position, I believe, hold that view first and then go find evidences they feel support it. Extreme atheists and extreme Christians have that in common.

They don't know, that's the problem. You can believe strongly that you know something that you actually don't - it's called delusion.

I don't claim to know that God does not exist, my position, and that of most Atheists, is that there is absolutely no logical reason to believe God exists.

It is essentially withholding judgement about God's existence indefinitely.

And for completeness...

I don't claim to know that God exists, my position, and that of most Christians, is that there is logical reason to believe God exists.

It is essentially not withholding judgement about God's existence indefinitely.

I'd love to see this logical argument you speak of.

Well half the time he has one... that being when he's not being questioned. When he's questioned it's simply "There can be no evidence" - it seems to me to be that way anyway Sad

If you want to know how to just know, it is called faith, and some people have a whole helluva lot more than other people do.

No, not really. I know, I've got a damn load of faith behind it and I do know it's true. I sure hope you trust those scientists who told you evolution is true. Big Grin I do.
