A judge could easily rule that a bakers pursuit of happiness is sufficient cause for him to refuse to serve gay weddings.

How did I miss this!? Lol! Heywood, love, please take a refresher course on the US constitution.

I haven't set foot in a classroom in 8 years. (Wow that is super depressing but don't worry I plan to start college, finally, this summer)
I'm pretty sure the fundamental rights as described in the constitution are;
Property- the right to own property pretty self explanatory.
Travel- the right to travel freely. I cannot remember if this is just from state to state or if this includes traveling abroad.
And
Privacy-privacy is trickier so over the years things were added to it so that everyone would know hey this counts under privacy

Contraceptives- the right to buy/use contraceptives came from a case that started in Georgia I think

Abortion-this one is too famous I am sure you know.

Marriage-I am pretty sure this was established before Lovings V. Virginia. If you haven't read the case it's easy enough to find. The Opinion (can't remember who is was written by) was worded very nicely. You could easily replace the word race with sexuality and have a perfect argument for why same sex marriage should be protected under privacy and the equal protection clause.

P-I can't remember what the P stands for

Education- the right to homeschool your children I'm pretty sure

Relation- this is right to live with your extended family.

Sexual Orientation- basically the right to have private sex with legal consenting adults of the same gender as you

I think the right to refuse medical treatment is in here too but I can't remember how to fit it with campers.

Baking, photography, and happiness didn't make the cut...

If the baker own his own shop then he is perfectly within his rights to refuse a gay couple service, infact he can deny anyway for pretty any reason he wants. Mind you i think it damn stupid, I would disagree with peole refusing service to gay weddings, but people have their beliefs however backwards and I can force my beliefs on others

The baker would be issued a license to sell his cakes. He would be required to follow state laws or risk losing his license. In many states, the baker would be within his rights to refuse to bake a gay couple a cake, but he would not be within his rights to refuse to bake the cake because the couple is gay.
Whether this is fair is irrelevant considering the topic of our conversation is same sex marriage and not wedding cakes or baker's rights.

I have to agree with Heywood here. I support marriage between a man and woman, only. I don't support legitimizing and legalizing same sex unions or marriages in any way. Also, same gender sex is biological nonsense. Our bodies aren't constructed to function that way. Only men and women are physically equipped for each other.

I have no business stating Heywood's opinion as if I know him, but it seems to me from his comments that he does not agree with you. I could be wrong, but it seems like Heywood isn't really against same sex marriage so much as he is trying to debate the reasoning for the judgement.

No. Just because I oppose same sex marriages doesn't mean I hate gays or that I'm bigoted anymore than just because I oppose Barack's policies doesn't mean that I'm either a racist or a nazi....but talk about bigoted and hypocritical asshats, you and some others here show quite a bit of intolerance, even hatred maybe, toward those who disagree with your views. We tolerate you having those views, but that doesn't mean we have to like them, it doesn't mean we have to be silent in our disagreement, and it doesn't mean you're automatically rationally justified in having them. As has been shown, you are certainly not the latter. Quit misusing the word tolerance.

Hey, same here. I tolerate you as well for having the views that you embrace, which also means I don't have to like or agree with your views either....same as with me, it doesn't mean I have to be silent when we disagree, (a fact you better get used to in life because not everybody is going to toe the line with your world view)....and that means as well that you're not going to be automatically rationally justified in having the views which you embrace. But, as has been shown, your side is not the most tolerant of opposing views and opinions.
