It's almost without exception that wherever Islam gains hold things start to go to shit. Look at the disparity between rich and poor wherever the al saud's have their oil money. Look at how people who don't espouse the same sect of Islam or even Islam per we are persecuted and murdered by the thousands. All the so called Arab spring produced was theocracies and extreme totalitarian movements which, inspired by their reading of the Quran and hadiths, attempted to create theocratic governments that actually took countries like Libya backwards to being worse than they were under dictators like gadaffi.

Islam is an atrocious idea, regardless of whether it's followers are true Scotsmen or not.

Islam certainly isn't powerful enough to stop atrocities performed in its name. It also doesn't punish those who do. So, precisely what fucking purpose does Islam serve?
