The mush for brains uncritical acceptance of all the Joseph Smith crappola was a big problem for many potential Mitt voters. I'm not sure a software package could ever emulate an actual human article in the White House (sorry Deep Blue) but candidates of Romney's caliber is a motivation to the coders to try.
