Wouldn't surprise me at all Cthulu.

Welfare whats? Pensions whats? I think money is a rationing system. I wouldn't have to hold welfare or pensions out as a carrot to entice my populace to be productive. They would be productive because there just wasn't anything else to do on a monday (the reason anyone is productive on a monday to begin with).

There is only one problem - The government can suck at running public services. I'll give my example, we have free healthcare, but most hospitals are bureaucratic and people die in waiting lines, we lack efficiency.

Nobody died in our for-profit hospital waiting lines because they died uninsured and in many cases never even bothered pursuing treatment until it was too late.

If both systems have flaws, I'd prefer the system with fewer.

Isn't that the kind of political views americans and republicans hate?

They actually hate Authoritarian Left (upper left), aka the socialists. They manage to anger the neo-Democrats (it's getting harder to identify what the Democrats are now since they've become so much like the GOP lately) and Republicans.

There's a fair amount of hate for the lower left as well. We're the abortion people, remember? Basically, anyone who -is- willing to write laws they don't like, or -isn't- willing to write laws that they do. Taken like that, pretty easy to understand, I'm sure.

True (don't the socialist nations support it nationally though?), but just look at what happened to New York when they tried to institute a soda ban.

Polaris I'd like to know where are the socialist nations b sides China, North Korea, Cuba... There are no socialist nations, only mixed economies, stop making that mistake. At most you could say there are nations more socialist inclined like Sweden, but never pure socialist, even Sweden still owes a lot of growth to capitalism

Those terms are just generic labels for people that disagree over political and social issues. There will always be someone more conservative or liberal than you. Honestly, I don't take anyone seriously that separates people/laws/ideas into those two very subjective designations. More often than not they have no idea what they are talking about.

China hasn't been socialist in decades. It's dominated by rich capitalists exploiting cheap labor now.

In the seaside yes. I completely agree with that. I was just saying officially they are a socialist republic, like Cuba and North Korea... It's just the label, it doesn't mean it's true.

My post was to mention there are no socialist first world nations, just mixed economies, no one survives without capitalism
