Quote one post that has said this.

I guarantee anything you do quote will be a blatant misunderstanding on your part. And further display of your ignorance.

So you think every black person who uses the term is trying to offend themselves? Are you really that stupid?

As a black man, the use of the word as a tool to point out overt racism supported by a group does not offend me.

There is a difference between using the word 'nigger' and calling someone a 'nigger'. Words are just that, words. Intent is what matters. Being reactionary and claiming that anyone who is not offended by a word is a racist is stupid and beneath someone of meager intelligence.

Generalizing a political view to it's extremists is just as stupid. Not all Tea Party members are racists. Not all Tea Partyers are hyper-religious neocons. Not all Liberals are communists who want to take your money and give it to everyone else. Pointing out the ones who are as deleterious to the group as a whole can be helpful, if done in a way that's not meant to discredit the rest of the more moderate people.

You sound like a child trying to tattle when no one cares.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

"Nigger" is an attitude - NOT a race. Most of the niggers I know are not black.

I say let's replace nigger with this two word replacement phrase... ignorant shitsack, which more clearly represents those most often referred to as the former.

Fish in a barrel. Let me guess, they're not real Tea Party supporters.

You said "offensive slur" in your response, not racial, implying that it is inherently offensive. Answer my question which relates directly to that thought, do you think every black person who uses the term is trying to offend themselves?

Often the term "nigga" and "the N word" are classed as two different terms.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigga

*edit* On a side note, I guess the author of that wikipedia article is a racist, he uses the N word quite a lot in there.

Yeah, so a minor problem with that - is that where I come from, the word is used to denote the former, regardless of the latter. Something tells me that it's not the combination of the letters that's pushing the buttons - because my regrettably confederatized comrades would probably be just as comfortable using your replacement phrase - and those to whom they would be referring would likely be uncomfortable with the same - for the precisely the same reasons as before (with the original phrase).

You know what I think people mean when they use descriptors like that? Exactly what they say.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I disagree that the use of the word nigger is inherently racist or offensive regardless of context. I also think saying "the N word" when simply discussing the use of the word is awkward and sounds immature.
I haven't said it many times in my life, but when I have said it it was either an intelligent conversation among adults discussing racism, or quoting someone else.
Context is very important to me. Sometimes using words like that can really drive a point home. I do think that it's a bad idea to use it as a newspaper headline, especially referring to the president.

I hope you don't actually ever refer to people as nigger though. That's just awful.
