Atheism + revisited, anyone here also post there?

RE: Atheism + revisited, anyone here also post there?
Just gotta say, doing some more reading into the reactions and different sides of the A+ thing...and I'm seeing some pretty horrendous stuff coming out from the opposition as well. I suppose that each side of any issue has its assholes. Shocker.

Like what for example? because all the horrendous shit I've seen comes from the A+ forums.

Even having a small dissenting opinion gets you called a misogynist or banned at places like freethoughtblogs.

If every post is subject to moderation, it's not much of a discussion forum.

Eh, threats of rape, physical threats, just plain insults without any argument. Same kind of stuff A+ says, just flipped.

Citations or examples please.

Well, they never did post my sayonara I wrote a new one. Now I'd just prefer they ban me.

Quote:Do you realize that by screening every post and only allowing those you approve of, you can misrepresent what people say? Since you didn't post my last entry, my dissatisfaction hasn't been expressed. So my continued presence may seem like an endorsement. Therefore just go ahead and ban me. Need a reason? How about "you are a bunch of speech nazis"? If that isn't offensive enough I'll see what I can do.

Intend to avoid those people. While I am by definition a feminist, since I'm a woman in a heavily male dominated field, I don't hate men. I like men. I don't believe that most men treat women as objects, and I don't believe we should rob men of their agency in sexual relations with women.

More than that it's the dividing of atheists that bothers me. We are marginalized and we need all of is to affect change. Division and exclusion is not productive and does not serve that goal.

Yeah, I am a feminist too. I agree that there are downsides to the traditional roles assigned both sexes, but I feel like women have gotten by far the shorter stick. Good point about robbing men of their agency in sexual relations. Sexuality gets in touch with something more primal. If we approach sex as a purely deliberate act, I don't really think anyone will be completely happy.

Happy to report I was granted my wish of being banned there. I just didn't want only my positive and neutral remarks, unaccompanied by any of the critical things I'd written to be left with me a member in good standing to indicate I approved. I will never join another place that insists on approve every entry before allowing it to post.

These people think A+ is divisive? They know nothing of divisiveness. Levitate

I searched my mind for several minutes trying to find someone safe.

The best I could come up with was a person who had lost all of their senses in the internetless jungle of Madagascar.

And then I realized that lemurs EAT people, so... they're screwed too.

One would think that members of minority groups would recognize this... but the majority of a minority wants their specific agenda addressed.

I find the benefits to womanhood far outweigh those of manhood.
