Also sacrifice means your facing limited options, in gods case why did anyone need to be sacrificed in the first place, seems he would of had an infinite number of possible solutions besides human sacrifice.
Mr.wizard, you have summed up exactly how I feel about this. The absurdity of this is what finally opened my eyes to the whole shebang a few years back. Also I have never found anybody who has been able to explain to me why skydaddy would need a sacrifice at all .

Just a quick drive by post, but isn't Jesus God himself? How can one sacrifice himself to himself, unless it means God himself was dead for a few days? Its part of that triune god crap that I've never been able to get my head around.

If I make a sacrifice without knowing there will be a reward, that is far more noble than if I know there will be.
Your gawd-boy knew there would be a reward and exactly what the reward would be. It also knew it wasn't really going to die. Just kinda fake it.
When you know you're gonna get everything and the "sacrifice" isn't even permanent then yeah, the "heroism" is negated nicely.

I'm sorry, but of all the bullshit your cult teaches, this is among the most disturbing. The thought that it can ever be "just" for the innocent to be punished in place of the guilty is a vile, repugnant teaching.

What I think you're missing is that Jesus had this glory before his death on the cross - so its not as if this is a pay off for him dying:
John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
He's always had that glory before the world began.

Apparently in payment for billions of people not suffering for eternity. Interesting balance.
