Nobody's yet been challenging your faith, Matt - I mean, carm - so far we've been looking at your beliefs. Beliefs can be true or false; faith can be justified or unjustified. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. 
You mean you'd be unable to find a purpose that's your own? That's a bit bleak, especially considering the immensity of the universe. C'mon, use your imagination! I'm sure you can think of something to which you can apply yourself.

However, just to give you the undeserved benefit of the doubt, please provide a list of relevant books you have read concerning (1) the history of Biblical times/places, (2) recent -- and by that I mean anything written since the 18th Century -- scholarship concerning the Bible, (3) comparative mythology, and (4) philosophy of religion. Bonus points for anything concerning cosmology, evolution, and/or rebuttals of the usual apologetics tripe offered up here. No I have gone through most of the Bible stories, it is just the first time reading them in order from start to finish.
No I haven't read any books that you have listed for two reasons, I have never come across any and I want to build my faith up not read this time of books until I have at least finidhed my read oc the Bible. No, I am not being emotional, my life would have no point and I would feel lost.
