So yet again, protect the "unborn", fuck the already born and dying.
It goes beyond that - it's protecting the "will never be born" at the expense of the living. If not for their value in stem cell research, the unused embryos would simply be destroyed.
This is what dogma does to your brain.

I wonder what these idiots expect to be done with extra in vitro embryos? It seems members of the flock have no compunction violating doctrine regarding in vitro fertilization (I understand that this doesn't apply to all denominations). God's method doesn't work, man figures out how to otherwise honor the fruitful/multiply command and men obsessed with controlling women's reproductive capacity lose their shit. I don't think Christian leaders taking this stance have fully thought this through.
If IV fertilization is against God's will, does God reluctantly imbue IV embryos with souls? This would mean human action dictates God's activity.
A way around this would be to claim that all humans born via IV fertilization are soulless, making the threat of eternal torment impossible and this method of crowd controlling religious adherence impossible. I'll just assume nobody makes this claim.
Another consideration is that God had always known that IV fertilization was to be and was part of his grand plan; in which case, its prohibition seems a little ridiculous.

I read a JW publication that was out the other day (dr offices suck without wifi), and they were fairly vehemently against IV because of the unused embryos.
Why the protest against this exactly? From what I saw it was just a bunch of folks getting junk poured over them. How does this kill embryos? I'm somewhat confused by this.

More criticism wrapped in illogic:
If you're against experimenting upon embryo's you must be against finding a cure for ALS.
People who are against abortion must be against healing children.

If it could be proven beyond doubt that God exists...
and that He is the one spoken of in the Bible...
would you repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ?

Souls are conveyed via breath.
Insoulation occurs with the first one. God put it up front in the Bible cuz it's important.

All the fundies and Catholics that moan, bitch and cry over embryonic stem cell research never offer a research path that promises advancement in our battle against genetic disease. Until a reasonable alternative is proposed, for all intents and purposes those that oppose stem cell research do in fact oppose a cure for ALS and other genetic disorders. If you want a cure for ALS, as you claim, then you are going to have to propose an equivalent alternative. No, pure fucking magic and praying don't qualify.
Let's make a deal right now. You and your ilk continue to frustrate stem cell research efforts and we'll continue to press on in spite of your efforts. When cures and treatments are developed based on the research you don't get to participate; not because you are prohibited by law, but because it would be an afront to God. Sounds reasonable doesn't it?

This is how Adam's life began but he was never in a mother's womb so this tells us nothing about abortion. If you read the first chapter of Luke you will find that John the Baptist was clearly alive while he was still in his mother's womb.

Is it asking too much for someone who quotes the Bible to consider the context so he understands it?

The alternative to embryonic stem cell research is adult stem cell research.
His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

And let me guess, only your idea of what any given quotation means is correct, right?
Got any evidence for why that's so, or is this just because you say so?

And if you watch the last five minutes of Star Wars it tells us how to blow up the death star. So what? Fictional events, such as the bullshit you think is real, are meaningless. Unless you have evidence that it is true....and you don't, theo.
