I think the U.S. and U.K. should stay out of it. Let the Turks and Saudis work with the Syrian and Iraqi governments to get rid of them; they should be more than capable.

I think they will stay out of it: their positions are too well established.

I'm not sure where the Turks stand at the moment, but I think the Saudis support the rebels so I'm not sure they would work with Assad. In any case they never seem to intervene directly, which is probably what's needed.

Yes...things are complicated.

Complicated things upset Americans. They overwhelmingly don't want to get involved but they want Obama to "fix" it. This is what happens when too many Americans are deluded by magical thinking.
