Rap hasn't been my thing. I prefer this one.

god is supposed to be imaginary
Does It Wasn't Me count as rap? Because I like that song.
There is another atheist website I hang out at and one guy trashes all rap saying the style sucks. Funny thing is that the guy who owns the website is a huge rap fan. You can attack an individual song as far as quality, but style still amounts to taste.
Same with Justin Bieber(sp). I get that people think he is a dumb young adult, and I agree, but on stage, and in videos and his voice, he has talent. Same with Elvis, he was no lyricist or classically trained musician like Metalicas memebers are. But he was a great performer. And as far as lyrics, you can find lots of rock and country with lyrics with controversial subject matter about violence and sex. Do you need, like, special headphones to listen to rap? Or a special stereo? Or download it from a special website? Do you have to listen to it standing on your head or only while making waffles? What does it mean to not know how to listen to rap?
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

I saw your other thread but thought it was for atheist hip hop or something. I haven't come across anything I know of from that sub genre that has piqued my interest. Catchy tune though. I look for rhythm/beat/ voice/lyrics in hip hop. With an emphasis on the first 2. Show me more of that. If it can't make me bob my head, doesn't really matter what the person is saying.
I'd rather slam my dick in a car door than listen to rap.
I don't think I know what "red rider" means....0.o

I have no doubt if you have dozens of artists you do like, or different types of music you like, I have no doubt those people you do listen to at the professional level have a wider taste in music than you do. Just say you don't like it. I dont like country either. But don't over dramatize as if rap is poison and rap artists will murder your family. I won't go out of my way to listen to rap for an hour or two. But I am certainly willing to admit I like one song if I like it. Metalica did a concert with the San Francisco symphony. They had extra footage where the symphony members were asking for their autographs. Two completely different types of music mixing together and all professionals in it for the love of music. The artists who make it to the top are never monochromatic. Rap is no different. If you don't like rap, it just means YOU don't like it.
It's fucking horrible.
