My mom wouldnt let me order a fancy drink for my birthday

RE: My mom wouldnt let me order a fancy drink for my birthday
^^. Kill her first ^^

Devil
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Mine hasn't called me in two years. Sometimes we don't all consider the same things blessings. Not that I care about fancy drinks, I don't, but it irks me sometimes when people say things like be glad you have a dad around. My blessing is that my dad doesn't call.

Mine hasn't called me on my birthday in close to 30. I wish he would call. Maybe I could have a relationship with him, if he'd only meet me part way, you know?

Same guy who posted that thread about being a god?
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Mine doesn't call me at all and I have decided that's probably best for my mental health.
I know what you mean. Have you tried calling him on your birthday? Sometimes people just need that little extra push.

Yeah, I have. He suffered congestive heart failure about a year ago. I spent nearly every night with him for weeks to months, sleeping in a chair in his room most of the time, despite it being two hours from work and home.

Ah, I have a father like that. I've received one letter from him in my whole 50 plus years of life, and I always do the calling. But I do try to call him from time to time and it's OK if I make the effort to visit. Phone calls are uphill talking. I just try to feel lucky that I have many other good relatives. And I do.

He did well with my niece for a while, but then she went to college and he was left with the phone and things have gone badly. *sigh* None-the-less he's a better grampa than he ever was a father.

Maybe he has no idea how to repay you for such a wonderful thing that you did, and instead feels inadequate and that alone, will keep people from picking up the phone.

If that's the case then no, its not your place to baby him, but then-- how else is this going to stop?

I would opt for seeking peace for today. The past happened, but what's happening right now is in all actuality the reality that is most important.

Maybe. There's also time to acknowledge that I can't continue to maintain a one-sided relationship.

Indeed. Indubitably

I wonder if given the chance, if it would be a one sided relationship though? You made it pretty clear how you care about him. Can you ask him to help you with something and see if he comes through for you?

Also, I would like to just say how unfair it is that I, as J Ashley's sole supporter and one and only fan, do not get to be repped by all these sock accounts!

Selfish, selfish girl.
