Bombing the crap out of people who think public beheading is a valid political statement seems fine to me.

I can't think of one good reason why Americans should risk their lives over it. We should be watchful, of course, and stop any attempted attacks, but if they want to kill each other over any number of differences, I say let 'em.

One of the most basic rules of war: Never interrupt your enemy in the middle of making a mistake.

They are killing each other, and not us. Let that continue.

Okay, look ISIS is not a bunch of terrorists. They are an organized military force, they already posses MiGs and Abrams tanks.

Your claim is factually incorrect, I think. They have about fifty tanks, accoring to that article -- T-55s and T-72s, both aging vehicles.

They have captured some Syrian jets, true -- but that doesn't make them useful. Not only must you have pilots for said airplanes: you must also have support, in the form of aircraft maintenance personnel, technical specialists for the weapons, and a doctrine that allows their integration into military operations.

Another question about the right wingers who are pushing us to attack Assad and/or Isis: Don't you remember what happened last time you had that whole war-hawk mentality? You pushed us into Iraq with no good reason to invade, you had no exit strategy and we got stuck there for a decade. Haven't they learned that invading another country is a big deal? If you think the defense contractors and their stranglehold on our elections are a problem, oil companies are even worse. There's a good reason we're far behind most of the free world in renuable energy use and there's also a reason our mass transit systems are far worse than most of those in Europe. Oil companies expect the people to keep buying their product and when they spend insane amounts of money in elections, the expectation is that the guy they fund is going to help keep us using their oil. Cuba threatens us, North Korea threatens us, every Muslim country in the world probably has a group that has threatened us. Terrorist states like North Korea have a history of mostly running their mouths and show boating but not acting out their threats against the U.S. in a manner like Al Qaeda did. Groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS have shown that they will act on their threats. Our foreign policy should reflect that if our interests and our people are harmed, the U.S. will reply with a strong military response.

Both the FBI and Homeland Security have recently stated that there is no credible threat of an attack on U.S. soil.

The Department of Homeland Security also came out just recently and said that ISIS could present a threat on U.S. soil by way of the Mexican/American border.

No. I didn't miss it. ISIS beheaded two Americans and threatened our homeland, (remember 911?), why should we depend on those regional states, who hate our guts anyway, to take care of that threat for us?
