No, not at all!
But the thing is, I am agnostic too. Most atheists are agnostic. Being just "agnostic" doesn't make any sense, because it doesn't address the question of belief. So in fact, we hold the same position. If you don't accept the claim there is a god, you're an atheist, even if you don't like to label yourself as such There is no middle ground. Of course you can argue that you give words different meanings, but by my definitions, we hold the same position. By default, an atheist is an agnostic. It's only if they choose to make their own claim about knowledge that they become gnostic, which is probably what a lot of people think "atheist" means.
I have more on my website:
Atheism/theism
Agnostic/gnostic
Please say if anything is unclear, or you disagree! To the best of my knowledge, these are the accepted definitions in the bulk of the atheist community.

Feel the need to go a bit further,
I AM, in point of fact a non-theist, in that, I hold a complete disbelief and contempt for every theory of deity posited by humans thus far !!
but even the "big bang" theory, Darwinism, nor evolution discount or eliminate the possibility of "intelligent design".
someone on here just the other day said that spiritualism didn't require spirit, and in another post, the word "soul" rubbed somebody the wrong way ????
you DO realize that your body is made of the exact same thing as your front yard right? and that when we go to your funeral and cry , we say "Oh no he's gone" ... no he's not ! there's the body laying right there ..... so I ask you ..... whats "gone"???
what has been animating that body for decades and typing and debating all these deep philosophical concepts?
answer ... I don't know .... and neither do you !

Sure. I have no belief in anything supernatural or "woo" either. You cannot disprove intelligent design, but there is no need to. That's not how science works. Someone must bring their case, not hide it in a maze and demand you run through hoops trying to smoke it out. "I don't know" is a perfectly acceptable answer, and often the only honest one.
Soul, spirit, god, afterlife, "energy"...As far as I am concerned, there is no evidence these words mean anything more than as metaphors. Metaphors I use, of course. They are useful in a literary sense.

Yes "I don't know" is certainly an acceptable answer. But the evidence is in that god claims are really nothing more than our species gap filling psychologically. "God" is really nothing more than our species narcissism and anthropomorphic cartoon reflections of our own desires.
It explains nothing other than our species ability to be imaginative.

Indeed. From a practical point of view, I "know" what gods are, and that's exactly it.
We know nothing about gods. We know lots about human psychology and history.

ARRRGGGGGGGGGG Yes we do know about gods, just like we know humans make up things like Superman and Batman.
"I don't know" only refers to what we have yet to uncover about nature in the future. It does not involve in that admission, clinging to the past. It really is ok to use the trash can of bad ideas.

"Atheism" isn't a matter of being cool either. Anymore than aiming right when you pee is something to brag about. I really don't do this to be edgy. I simply don't like dancing around anything.
