Christians: Please explain the Exodus

Hell, even Moses didn't make it.

What did they do with all the bodies ??

(Moses excepted, he flitted away)
Actually the Bible says they didn't make it to Canaan, all 2-3 million of the original fleeing Jews died in the Sinai peninsula, and were buried there so god could let the next generation into Canaan. Where are the graves? Where is the pottery?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

In Ancient Israel, a 1992 compilation of various essays edited by Amnon Ben Tor, the noted Israeli archaeologist Amihai Mazar writes the following:

http://books.google.com/books?id=m1b1VgN...&q&f=false

It's page 282 of a Google Books preview and so cannot be copied and pasted but Mazar's commentary on Exodus bullshit begins in the first column.

What he is referencing is the attempt by Israeli archaeologists to excavate the site of Kadesh Barnea which is the only oasis in that part of Sinai where any sizable group of people would have the water to live for long. THEY FOUND NOTHING from the Early Bronze Age to the Iron Age which indicated that there had been any occupation at all.

This was not what they expected to find. They set out with the full expectation that they would find Late Bronze Age evidence for the jews fleeing Egypt. Unlike xtian fuckheads, Mazar and his colleagues had the intellectual integrity to report their finds and evidence based conclusions. Note a bit further on where Yohanon Aharoni's excavations in the Arad valley show that Arad did not exist until the 10th century, either. These are anachronisms and the fucking OT is full of them.... and full of shit.

For instance, I can go to https://israelfinkelstein.wordpress.com/ and look up plenty of Israel Finkelstein's peer-review published stuff. You are making an argument that you as a layman thinks is valid - if it's valid show us archaeologists who agree with your theory?
That's what orginal thought looks like sport. I can think for myself therfore I do not need someone to verify what is common sense for me.

If you believe my comon sense approach to be invalid then by the study and structure of archeaology show how my conclusions to be invalid.

Anyone can raise an objection, one does not have to be an expert to point out the emperor isn't wearing any cloths.
To insist that one has to be an expert to doubt or question a so called expert is an appeal to authority and is fallacious reasoning.

ROFLOL oh, the irony. That is like me saying God created everything in 6 days and on the 7th He rested. Now go proove me wrong!
(Shifting the goal posts) Logical fallacy works both ways. You made the assertion now you must support it.

Quote:They aren't making their arguments with no evidence, they have an amount of clear evidence that contradicts the biblical accounts. For instance, we know that the ancient Jews fleeing Egypt never went to the actual Mt. Sinai - even evangelical scholars acknowledge this!
Then proove it. You made a verfiable statement, show me that what you said is indeed supported.

All i asked was to the nature of the evidence found of a 3400 year camp site in the desert. Do they have any, have they ever found evidence of this nature. I also pointed out that whole cities disappear in the desert with permant structures without a trace, and these guys point to the lack of evidence as if it were some legit peice of evidence.

If the tables were turned you people would be all over this. confirmation biased much?

I think you're asking the question on the wrong forum OP, unless your intention was to confirm your bias.

Yes Drich, we've found evidence of the sort you requested - from space..no less. Didn't require a single shovel, and the interceding distance between the ground and the satellite or between the event and our time proved to be too much for your desert magic.

Even the absence of an actual campsite (which would be convenient, especially if they had a nice fire to keep them warm) doesn;t have the power to make things invisible to us. We're capable of identifying parts of the silk road that might have seen just a few hundred people over the span of thousands of years -=again, all the way from space...and amusingly, because we're looking from space. Impressive stuff.

Your excuses are noted, and rejected.

But more than this, we've found evidence that speaks to the -actual- history of the peoples mentioned in the bible. So it's not just that we haven't found evidence where we would expect to, of a sort we are absolutely capable of finding, but that we have found evidence where we didn't expect to - precisely because we entertained your biblical nonsense for so long.

If a group of people were camping in the middle of the desert only a few days ago I think it would be difficult to spot. If is like footprints in snow hey dissappear quickly. So trying to find out if people were camping in a desert 1000s of years ago I expect would be hard to do.

It actually isn't, even when people try to hide it. That's why we can find people trying to flee through the wilderness. How many wanderers and campers do you think the exodus is referring to, one, two?

I think it refers to a few more than two.

So it might be a little easier than finding two people running through the forest - which is also something we're capable of doing, eh?
