You'll be surprised at what you consider good music in five or ten years, MLA.
Also, I would just like to point out a few aspects of music you are missing. You've boiled it down to a gradient of emotional depth. But you're neutering music of its versatility, and I think in doing so, your missing what others may be enjoying in music you may deem too emotionally shallow. Dance music, for instance, isn't exactly emotionally charged, but it gets some listeners to move, which can be enjoyable and healthy. Music can also be used as an intellectual stimulant. Not necessarily emotionally complex, but complex in structure. This allows the listener to exercise their spatial/temporal reasoning. Again, this could elicit an enjoyable response. Whether these and other aspects of music bring about an enjoyable experience is, of course, up to the listener.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

If you had not been so hostile, then neither would I. But please keep on telling us all how you've gotten the world all figured out at the ripe old age of 14, was it 14? You feel like the entire world is against you and the world is wrong, but have you ever conidered that it is you who is wrong. That your alienation from other human beings has something to do with your views. The way you talk about people, is far far far more cruel than the way I've been talking to you.
