In this hypothetical situation how did I find out that witches were real back then and not just a myth?

Someone finds a old book a spells, summons a demon and the door to witchcraft/demon possession is back open and all Hell breaks loose again.. New problem, created by a period book that verifys the old problem.

Thinking if he said that to me personally i would give him the finger that's if he even exists.

If 'god' told me to do something not consistant with scripture then I could identify it as a false god no matter what he brought to the table.

Again the goal in biblical Christianity is to follow and Worship the God of the bible. Once 'a god' deviates from the bible it can quickly be identified as a false God.

Now if Acts 21:13 said thou shalt roast thy heathen neighbors when call upon to do so by the lord your God... then lets just say if i were you I would not goto the denver get together next summer.

but what if god like people changed into the 6 thousand years.
now he doesn't follow his own scripture anymore you would still have to listen.
and also not no denver summers ill go during the winter.

but yet... he didn't.. if he changed back then it would affect now and since no changes to the past happened. even if he had changed the past it would affect the present and since god always wants to be right he would not change the past.

Ok so what if.... witches as per folk tales and scary movies existed? (Not the dbag witch/emo/hippies we do have) but real fly on a broom, steal your children cook and eat them, prey on people in general, no prision can hold them, can only be killed by water or fire, but real as the day is long???

Would it then be ok to have an hold witch hunts of old/Salem witch trials?

What if #2: what if just a few hundred years ago these type of witches really did exist and it wasn't superstition and rampant ignorance that over took people. What if the population was then just as aware of reality as we are now, only that the variable in the equation was reality itself and not our ancestors knoweledge of it? Meaning the supernatural was stronger than it is now?

Would that change your view of what they did and why they did what they did?

No. Throwing water on a person doesn't hurt them. So I'd say force everyone to stand in a line and spray them down with a water hose. Prevents the risk of accidentally burning an innocent though eccentric weirdo at the stake.

no judgement just showing a chink in the armor of morality most of you wear.

How is following a scenario that you painted, in which you get to choose the allowable parameters, a reflection on anyone's morality other than your own? What you're doing, basically, is asking us to draw you a picture of a witch being burned, then pointing and saying, "hey everybody - look what the nasty atheists have drawn! I thought they were supposed to be the moral ones!"

By applying your method, I can prove I can read your mind. I want you to think of a number from 1 to 9. Rules: it cannot be prime. Its English name must be less than four letters long. That name cannot start or end with a vowel.

Were you thinking of the number 6? Hey, look at that! And you had a totally free choice, too! *

No, seriously - they can really fuck you up.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

So what? Drich said they steal children and do bad stuff right. They're like "evil" witches in a fantasy world...I've got no qualms with spraying down the lot of them.

Why would demons need humans to do their magic if humans can't perform magic?

What would be the proof that fire is the only way to get rid of a demon? A book saying so is not good enough proof.

exactly... so if a human can do some magic he is labeled a demon and it doesn't matter how much that person/demon does good it still deserves to get burned because a book said so... yeah some morality..

What chink? That burning the baby eating witches is the only way to actually get rid of them? How is that morally wrong when the alternative is to just let them do it. Well I don't know, is there an alternative? Is there any other way to get rid of witches then burn them? It's your scenario here.
