My naive questions
Hello, i`m new here, but i`m motivated Wink

I have a question for christians, but it`s valid for every religious person.

Let`s assume you become convinced there has to be a God who watches over everything you do. Before you choose your faith, wouldn`t it be reasonable to research every single belief in the world before choosing?

I mean, why choose something only because it`s popular in your area?

How do you know God didn`t convey his (because God has to be a man) message to someone in 2014, but they took him to to a psychiatric clinic and branded him a schizophrenic? Maybe God told him the devil has been active until 2013, but in 2014 God decided to intervene, why not?
If it`s true that our species is alone in the universe then I`d have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

Yes

indeed. That is what it is to Ask, Seek and knock as outlined in Luke 11.

My answer may seem contray to what you believe about Christianity, but the short answer here is lack of proof. Look in the bible at how God establishes 'prophets/Apstoles.'

If God carries the '2014 messenger' as He did the apstoles and prophets then His message is worth listening to, so long as it jives with scripture.

I dont know what your asking here.

Someone appears and says that the devil made someone write Luke, and he intereferes with your logic (sic), making you believe it`s true.

And more importantly, have you researched every single sect/belief in the world and found out they don`t have enough proof for you?

I hit all the big ones.. I've studied buddhism, Islam, Judisim several christian cults, Several main stream forms of Christianity, before I found God. Once I found what I was looking for I stopped looking.

That is why there are three other accounts of the gospel. All four support one another.

Also, Drich, I told you about the tooth fairy god, and you didn`t respond.

Did you knock and the tooth fairy didn`t appear to you?

If so, you haven`t knocked properly. And if you didn`t bother to knock, then i`m sorry but you`re going to hell.

Drich, why does it has to be popular?

Maybe the true religion has one prophet and two disciples, and it`s a 2014 religion. It still hasn`t been written, and why does it have to be written anyway? Are you judging god? Does he have to send you a written document?

You are a little blasphemer, falling into the devil`s trap. He intentionally constructed the gospels so you could be fooled.

It really isn't necessary to research each and every religion. Even if you did it would be only a cursory overview. Any religion that teachs love and compassion has something of value. We are judged not by how much light comes our way; but rather, by how we receive the light that comes our way.

Again I asked for evidence that thooth fairy-ism was an actual religion and not some childish crap you're trying to use to push a lame point.
You have yet to demonstrate that thooth fairy worship is a recognized and established system of belief, as you said it was. You made a statement now I am asking that you support what you have claimed. To discuss it further would be foolish, if it is not a real religion.

Why? because you would have no rules or guidelines to direct your end of the conversation. You could just make up an endless supply of paradoxical points to proove what ever falsehood you had on your heart to proove.

Now the question is are you a man of integrity or are you the type of person who will say or do anything to try and win an arguement?

Quote:If so, you haven`t knocked properly. And if you didn`t bother to knock, then i`m sorry but you`re going to hell.
says... who?

Quote:Drich, why does it has to be popular?
It doesn't. What I believe isn't popular. I just started with what I was born with and moved on to the next thing avaiable to me. I live in a western soceity so those religions are the most accessiable.

Quote:Maybe the true religion has one prophet and two disciples, and it`s a 2014 religion.
That's the thing sport. There are no 'true religions.' All Religion is a construct from man. The only true way is a construct of God, via redemption/Christ.

Quote: It still hasn`t been written, and why does it have to be written anyway?
Per what was said about your toothfairy-ism. If it is not written people like you just make up crap as they go to proove whatever points they want to proove.

Quote: Are you judging god?
Again God is not the author of religion man is.

Quote:Does he have to send you a written document?
It's not about half to. It's about what has been done, therefore what we are responsiable for.

Quote:You are a little blasphemer, falling into the devil`s trap. He intentionally constructed the gospels so you could be fooled.
..and your still living with mommy aren't you?

No one in the real world defaults to peer pressure when threatened unless shelter by someone else.

If your going to be a member of this forum grow up.[/quote]

Agree, once you find your car keys it is customary to stop looking for them.

Ohhh...

So you should believe every religion because it teaches love and compassion?

Truth doesn`t matter to you?

are you the 'special' type of person who continue to look for his/his mom's car keys after he has found them?

Then why would you look for truth after you have found it?
