MERGED: The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Part 1) & (Part 2)
RE: MERGED: The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Part 1) & (Part 2)
"Paul" seems as legendary as fucking jesus. Xtians desperately assert that "Clement of Rome" - another phony literary character - wrote an epistle that they date to the persecution of Domitian. Trouble is, there was no persecution of Domitian. Decius, 250 AD, was the first Roman emperor to persecute xtians and he didn't even single them out. That epistle is so important because it is the only first century reference to "Peter" or "Paul" but the fact is that like the rest of the nonsense it comes from the second century.

So much of the story cannot withstand scrutiny.

Quote:The Roman Empire lasted more than a thousand years and persecuted Christians for fewer than twelve of them. The 'Christian Empire' also lasted more than a thousand years and persecuted non-Christians through all of them.

Until the early years of the 2nd century, Roman administrators were ignorant of the existence of the Christians. For a generation that followed they remained indifferent to this obscure 'Jewish' sect (and its many different factions) but, in time, this indifference gave way to contempt and then irritation.

Admin hat on.

There is no prohibition on using red or green text here.

However, I'll note the following:

* It's annoying as fuck. It makes the eyes bleed.
* If you're doing to to quote other sources, you're doing it wrong.
* If you do it in a way that might make the staff think you're trying to impersonate them, you deserve whatever happens as a result.

You can.

No, you can't. You see, there's a verse which asserts pi to be equal to three; a verse asserting that birds are bats; Christians regularly say that Jonah was swallowed by a whale, when in fact the Bible calls it a fish -- clearly most Christians don't trust at least one verse of the Bible.

The are plenty more: The KJV says that the world doesn't move, which not only contradicts reality, but doesn't even agree with other versions of the Bible ... and so on.

Anyway, for anyone who needs a laugh or two...here is his "dissertation" which reads more like Creatard 101.

He has been indicted for mail fraud in 2014 and will go to trial in January.

Maybe they can lock his ass up for 50 years?

What's this? Another dishonest Christian?

I think I see a pattern emerging ... no wonder His_Misery loves the guy.

Can you quote chapter and verse so we can analyze what you're speaking of? Paul's Jesus was crucified in a higher realm.

Humphreys from Jesus Never Existed?

Please don't tell me that's how you conclude that Jesus was a Myth? Almost every position he holds is an argument from silence.

Not once does he provide a single stitch of tangible evidence to support his assertions.

All he says is stuff such as, "This guy said nothing, that guy said nothing, this place never existed, yada yada yada."

You will need someone far more credible than him, because seriously, he's laughed at and scorned in the scholarly community.

It takes a special blend of idiocy and shamelessness to uphold Hovind as an authority on anything other than pandering to and benefiting from believers, who are so desperate to maintain their delusions at all costs that truth becomes a game to be won rather than an ideal to respect and strive for. My disgust with H_M at this point is boundless.

Way to witness for your god, H_M! You are a stooge, too stupid to understand how thoroughly you damage the credibility of your religion with virtually every post. Keep up the good work. Remember, you are not only arguing with atheists; you are 'witnessing' to untold numbers of lurkers who judge the quality of your arguments and aren't likely to buy your snake oil. Hovind? Yes, keep reminding everyone how intellectually bankrupt your position really is.

If there was an atheist conspiracy to undermine Christianity, we could do worse than to put you on the payroll.

I can't be bothered reading back but he actually referred to Hovind as an authority?

That's as bad as holding up Comfort or Ham!
