Well good news everyone! I've never given a rep in my life, so y'all can expect one more from me if you're nice and suck up to me. Awesome system! I still don't get what it is for though.

It's purely for assuaging egos and for expressing appreciation/affection/respect. I know, why not just express it in a post, right? We could definitely do without it but once newer members notice it they can feel under-appreciated since the dinosaurs, myself included, tend to lapse into forgetfulness. In an ideal world you'd only use it when you're so impressed with a post that you think to yourself, "gee I wish there was something more I could do than give a kudo".
