This is the kind of crap that frustrates me with believers. God is great because he (supposedly) helped someone find a misplaced wallet. Yet, there are hundreds/thousands of Christian kids wasting away in hospital beds, hundreds/thousands of Christian adults being beaten by their spouses, etc. It's quite clear they're looking for something, anything to reaffirm their faith in the face of overwhelming evidence of an apathetic reality, so they attribute the miraculous to the mundane.
At least Linus' blanket was real.

Ok, I'll be your huckleberry..
What makes a lost wallet more or less important than getting someone out of a hospitial bed?

Ask someone with a wallet standing next to someone in a hospital bed why finding their wallet if they lost it is just as important as the bedridden person getting up.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

That doesn't even dignify a response.

The comparison is what makes all the difference. I'm not even joking with this one.

Did you read that back to yourself before you hit the 'post reply' button?
Are you really that insensitive?
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

You're seriously asking that of someone who prayed for us to get life-threatening diseases like cancer and AIDS?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

A friend of a friend supposedly felt "God" telling her to pull over while she was on the highway. She ignored it several times, and then finally gave in and pulled over. She got out, looked down, and found her husband's wallet, which had apparently fallen off his truck earlier that day. My family shared her story and basically said that "God knew exactly how many times He'd have to tell her to pull over before she did it, and it was all in His perfect timing so that she'd pull over at the right place".
That is just one scenario that I have been told about by my super spiritual family. I'm just wondering what any atheists, or simply anyone who's not a Christian, believes about this.
What are the odds of that happening? Does this mean there's something like "fate" that caused this? Is it some other force of nature we've yet to understand that is responsible for these unbelievable coincidences? Or... could there be a God, after all? If so, why would any loving God take the time to find someone's wallet, but not rescue someone from disease, war, rape, hunger... etc.?
Nothing personal against your family, but the odds are greater that this is a tall tale.
