I think you're on to something. Think about it like Plato's cave, as Heywood's spider suggests. The world we perceive is limited to our senses, sight, hearing, touch, taste. But a bat's perception includes radar (playtypus' too BTW) and in many bats its radar perception out-stripes its sight and the nighttime world it perceives is quite different from ours. If discrete perception is all that's necessary to create a sub-reality than evolution has created many, many different sub-realities.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
You know guys, this is what I love about the forums: everyone, and I mean everyone is always capable of enriching the discussion - there is always something more to learn here. Thank you.
Now since I'm admittedly ignorant on the subject, I'll gladly stand back and watch the discussion unfold. Just one more thing: Heywood has still not provided a shred of a citation for his first claims.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped. Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses. Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder. Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids." (November 30, 2014 at 2:04 pm)Heywood Wrote:(November 30, 2014 at 1:50 pm)C4RM5 Wrote: Or is Notch just copying God's design? Yet another silly circular argument from you.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
What the hell is a sub-reality?
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Not that means much of anything until we define "a reality." That's the problem with so many arguments for the existence of god, they rely on vague terms and shift the apparent meaning of those terms from premise to conclusion.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

The going theory is in universe a you eat breakfast universe b you don't. i would like for it to be proven but we wouldn't be able to get to one.

It is a bullshit term used by idiotic theists who thinks theists can be clever for the purpose of sneaking threadbare concept of supernatural back into a conversation without being laughed out of the room for saying "supernatural".
And all for the purpose of pretending their pet god is real and not some made-up security blanket to stop them from being scared of the dark.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
