If the universe was fine tuned for our life...

...wouldn't it be much like a Minecraft world? Flat, infinite, with (potentially) infinite resources and without many of the dangers and complexities of the real world? Especially considering that the creator God is proposed (at least by the major monotheistic religions) as an omnipotent being, why would he create a universe where most of the space is empty and/or unsuitable for human life?
If he wanted a huge sandbox to make us humans live and to test us, why not make the whole of the universe like that? After all, he can pop things into existence, pretty much like a computer does when it generates a Minecraft world.
So, the question is: is Notch more intelligent a designer than Yahweh/Allah/Jehovah?

You'd think if it was fine tuned for life, all planets would have life in them. However, many christians don't believe aliens exist. or they think aliens are demons. It's one of those things that christians say that don't relaly make sense if you think about it too much.

Yeah, it isn't so much fine tuned as barely tuned.
If this universe was designed just for us, then the designer is a shitferbrains. Given his supposed power and resources, a child could do better.
I often daydream of how happy I could be if things were different. Thanks for giving me the imagination to appreciate just what I'm missing out on. If you weren't fictional I would so kick your arse.

If the universe was fine toned for life there wouldn't be so much evidence of so many extinction amongst the only tree of life we know which is still hanging on in an rather paltry planet around an insignificant star residing in an insignificant portion of an ordinary Galaxy in a decidedly pitiful Galaxy cluster.

The universe is fined tuned....but not for life. The universe is fine tuned for emergent complexity....life is just one example of emergent complexity.

What makes you think that it's fine tuned for that? Where is the evidence of the fine tuning? Why would a phenomenon like emergent complexity require fine tuning?

If the universe was fine tune for us, then I should be able to float in space without a space suit. Other life forms would exist on other planets, because it would be able to support mines.

Right now black holes are colder than the surrounding space. There will come a time when black holes are warmer than the surrounding space. It conceivable that one day life will huddle around black holes for warmth.

Most coherent models of the universe do not result in sustained emergent complexity. Our is special in that it does.
