How cute... a sub-30yo as head of a research unit on a privately owned company...
And only one guy sees the problem with that research.... the janitor... oops... the hunter... also working for the company... also a sub-30yo with massive experience in dealing with dinos... and he only gets to know about the research subject when it's already well over a few years old. Nicely done, portraying companies as stupid money making machines... oh, wait!
I think I've seen pornos with cleverer plot.

If the bait shown was meant to be a average sized great white (5 meters long), the mosasaur that can swallow it in one bite would have to have a jaw in excess of 5 meters long, meaning the whole animal, if normally proportioned, would be over 50 meters long, or about twice the length of a blue whale.
As a very rough approximation, cube law means the mesosaurs as shown would weigh about 1000 tons. Since apex predators are seldom if ever even close in size to the largest animal in an ecosystem, I wonder what other battleship sized swimming reptiles Steven Spilberg has in mind.

Surely no one actually expects reasonable plots out of a Hollywood "blockbuster", much less accurate science?
The vast majority of what comes out of the major studios is utter crap, I see no reason for this film to be any different.

I agree. But why? So often I wonder why 100 million were spent on fx, another 100 mill on famous actors, and apparently 5$ on the script. Why why why?

Luckily I don't watch commercials...
I knew her from latter day two and a half men where her role sucked bad (along with the show, so probaby not her fault), and from the big bang theory where I thought she was ok.
