Your sarcasm would work better if there was anything obviously wrong with my statement. As it is, there isn't.

Binge eating disorder? What do you all think about this?

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I don't go out of my way to rag on fat people, but sometimes groups or people make claims that being fat is just as healthy or just as beautiful as not being fat and that needs to be responded to. Fat people spend a lot of time justifying being overweight and pretending like it's' not their fault they are overweight. I think that also needs a response just based on what is actually true, not out of prejudice against fat people.

There you go. That's exactly my point. Thanks for putting it like that.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I also commend you for going to the trouble to express yourself so thoroughly. Respect.

You're a lovely person and you're very kind, caring and compassionate.

You always make me blush Evie, lol.  I am a flawed person who is quite often horrible, even if i don't mean to be!  You always make me feel better about myself, though. :Smile Just having you on the forums cheers this whole place up.

Everyone is horrible sometimes. The truly horrible people don't even recognize that they're ever horrible. The truly horrible people proudly behave horribly and genuinely think and/or insist that they haven't done anything wrong. You're not like that. You're sweetly apologetic and lovely.

You're a flawed person? Welcome to the club. We all are. Poebody's nerfect.

I am so glad I make you feel better about yourself. That makes me feel awesome. I'm a very empathetic person just like yourself and making people happy makes life worth living: Especially awesome people like yourself. Friendship gives life so much meaning to me. It's everything. It really is.

I'm glad you think I cheer the forums up: That alone makes me want to stay forever... that and my awesome friends here [emoji2]

Oh and... if I truly make you blush for real then I'm supremely proud of myself for that. I delight in that. I revel in blush-inducing [emoji6]

I disagree. We should be allowed to talk about anything we want. And I don't think it's unreasonable to criticize someone for lifestyle choices they made. It may very well be none of my business, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to critique them if I find fit to do so. Some people just need to grow a thicker skin, or better yet, consider the critiques and change if they find them valid.

Well if you don't think it's unreasonable to criticize somebody else, then why are you getting bent out of shape when they are doing it to you?

We live in a society where men are in a constant pissing contest to be the most masculine, the most respected etc etc. That's an attitude that breeds shame around being fat. It's "biggest dick syndrome", represented in body shape.

It's the same reason there appears to be so much pressure on short men, skinny men, the list goes on. Women will have their preferences sure, I've heard women say they won't date a guy under 5'9 or a bald guy, but I still think most of the "pressure" men face is to match up to other men, not so much to impress women. Therefore it's less of a sexism issue and more our own issue, it's the hypermasculine culture that needs addressing.

I think your right, it's an alpha dog mentality, it's more of a pressure to be masculine than it is to look good. In fact I would say most guys who are considered good looking are often picked on as being pretty boys.

It is that alpha dog mentality. Men put far more pressure on eachother than the pressure women put on us.

But with what women find attractive, I think it depends. I've heard women give all kinds of descripitions of what "attractive" is ranging from Harry Styles to Barack Obama. You can (within reason anyway) look like anything as a straight guy and not find it hard to get a date.

But that said, I really don't think general society is that shallow anyway. I used to get so hung-up about my appearance when I was a teenager, then I went to uni... "Average" people who looked like me having dates and getting laid everywhere. It's the media that's shallow, general society isn't.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable."
