"I DAMN you to HELL" might work if there were some special effects of the miscreant being eaten by his own bowels while on fire or something.

On the cross: "I'll be back!"

Wait, that's Arnie and, unlike Jesus, Arnie DOES come back.

I think Jesus would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what people were saying about him

Theoretically, according to scripture, he does know.

And he's not in a grave.

I still think Jesus supervises special torments in hell for especially bad sinners on his enemy list

One of the many things I don't understand about Christianity: My savior was in the morgue, but then he got up and now he walks among us. How is this comforting!!!

That and the idea of family dying and watching me from heaven. I don't want an audience for some of the things I do. CREEPY!!!

Yeah, many of these things aren't nearly as great as they sound if you stop and think for a minute.

Which is worrying in itself.

Is Drich saying that if I buy a product that was produced in a sweatshop in China, I have "directly" supported slavery? Because that is a very slippery slope. How many other things can we be said to support "directly" when we do things without knowing the background? Rape? Prostitution? Murder? Theft? Are any of those okay if they are properly regulated?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Yep. If you buy anything, that money could go to a staff member who then spends it somewhere else, and so on, and eventually it could end up in the hands of a murderer.

Therefor murder is OK.

If I plant a tree, do I have to worry that the oxygen it produces will help a terrorist live?

Quote:You're so wedded to your canned response that you didn't even realize I'd already let all of the wind out of this sail. Your position on this matter is representative of no god, it is your own. Grab your balls and own it..then we can talk like adults.
If this were remotly true and soceity can live without slavery then it should be very easy to give that soceity as an example, and not have default to a red herring for your dismissal

Quote:I don't give a shit how you want me to treat the slaves I do not and will not ever have.
Ever bought Nike's? Aside from the actions at the factory where they produce those shoes, they like most shoe companies get their raw material from india. Why? because it is way cheaper to source the textiles and raw materials there. Why? Slave labor/Child labor.
No on the shoes? what about out of season fresh fruit or veggies? Where do you think peaches, apples, tomatoes cabbage ect.. comes from when it is outside of their northern hemisphere growning seasons?

South American countries where the large plantations more closly repersent the slave trade you think of when you reference that word.

Do you think if thier wasn't a demand for the products you 'need', these slaves would exist?

While you may not keep a slave yourself, your lifestyle demands that people/companies keep slaves on your behalf. When you 'pretend' that slaves don't exist and you 'pretend' that you live is not built on the backs of modern day slaves, you allow the companies you have tasked to keep slaves (with your purchases) the freedom to do with those people whatever they will.

Quote:The only way I would -not- treat the slave of another...is as a slave. Take that to the bank, midget.

ROFLOL
Youre a closed minded hypocrite of the worst order. You are faced with undeniable truth of the matter yet you burry your head in the sand to hold fast to the shadows of your 'moral' doctrine.(This is the hyprocrisy) What's worse I believe you believe everything you say, and you want to ignore everything else. (Hence the closed mind)

Granted there are shitty economical situations around the world, I've personally witnessed a few. But the fact that it's in the bible, and Christianity's bitter defense of all of the things that don't apply to the modern world, is offensive. The Bible is fiction that is taken as fact.

What are you talking about? We are talking about slavery, and I have shown where this is a current and topical matter even if western soceity has redefined the term.

Do you know when your whole arguement centers around generalities like yours does (and fails to address specific points) you are speaking to sterotypes and feelings of hatred. This is how a bigot defends his positions.

According to the bible Jesus said you can't be his follower unless you hate your family.

What sort of message of "love" is that?

Book Chapter and Verse Please.

So your not willing to answer my question either? what are you afraid of? Are you afraid to see how your selfrighteousness stacks up against the truth?

Fuck off. Firstly, I shop American wherever possible. I don't own any Apple product, any Nike product. Secondly, there's a difference between being paid low wages, and being a slave liable to being beaten unconscious, which is what your Bible lays out as proper treatment for them. Thirdly, if slavery is a moral good, why aren't you volunteering for it?

This entire line of reasoning of yours is a transparent attempt of yours to defend an obnoxious Biblical practice with a false equivocation and red herring.

Stop being a cunt. You know slavery is wrong. You know it is wrong and your actions testify to that, because you haven't volunteered for bondage, you little asshole. It's good enough for others, and you've got a holy book getting you off the moral hook.

You, and the many other Christians like you, make me sick to my stomach with your immorality.

Do you eat out of season food? Do you own a car of truck (Any make or model) Do you own any type of modern electronic devise.

Then you too my friend are a contributor to the modern slave trade, like it or not. why? Because again modern life/city life is not possible without slaves.
