Wow, that's really cool! What country are you in?

I'm not sure about David Cameron, I imagine he's a lip-service christian but I don't know. I've heard milliband and nick leg are atheists.

Austria. And he's the guy I voted for. Not because he's an atheist, but because he's always shown to be a moral person.

For awhile, NC had a law that atheists couldn't serve in government offices. I don't think that was overturned until the nineties.

I just found it unusual considering what I'm used too. I think that's a great thing.

According to the The „Global Religiosity and Atheism Index“ 58 percent of the population dont consider themselves religious. So I'm not part of a minority.

Oh, I'm sure some nonsense like this is sprinkled here and there in random laws but are just ignored.

There's still a law like that on the books here in Mississippi. One cannot hold any county, municipal, or state office if he/she "denies the existence of a Supreme Being". Of course, it is unconstitutional, but it makes little difference because it will never be challenged in court. An "out" atheist would never be elected for any office in this state.
