PC drives me nuts. When teaching, it became chalk board instead of black board. I mean, was anyone ever actually offended by black board? It's black you dumb fucks!
It seems to me the people deciding what is and isn't offensive have no contact with the groups in question.
But ahem, yeah! Science rules. Science vs religion is an easy win ever time, if they ever stick to the rules. Which is why they never do. Dirty tactics.

Ours changed to "chalk board" because they went from black to green.

Oh, that's fair enough then. Ours didn't, they were still black. And most people still called them black boards. And no one cared.

Welcome to the forums! And good luck with your endeavour to set up a meeting. I'm based in Europe so I don't know how to help you with that, but if there are any physics questions let me know

I've got a kind of dated one perhaps from myself..
The Plank Barrier at 10(-43) second of the inflation/big bang is where I read that quantum models started to be inadequate for further understanding. This js from reading stuff 20 years ago. Has anything changed for modern models of the big bang ?
I need some new books...

No. That's still a fundamental problem in modern cosmology.

Thank you, I would further assume issues remain in all efforts to quantify gravity. I remember reading Hawking thought the end in sight.
It still annoys me to my last nerve when the flock says: "Science can't explain it. The Universe is too complex to just happen by natural process"
To that I've always replied: If its too complex to come about via natural process. Then how can you explain the origins of a deity capable of creating it then? Wouldn't said deity be infinitely more complex than matter/objects being created?
I'm sure you're all aware of just how satisfying those answers have been. -Laughable-
Then I pile on....Why did it take six days y2k create the Earth? Why not 6 secs? You argue your omnipotent God just has a really big ass shovel.
I'm tired of calling it ignorance. I think deeper issues are afoot with religious people. They just lack the power and ability to reason quickly.
Any science book coupled with a taste of history utterly blows the God model away quickly and completely.
Please forgive me...I really need to let off a few good rants.

No, by all means rant away! It feels good to get this stuff off of your chest with like minded people.

Actually, IMHO, I do not think they are unable to think so much as unwilling to think. They have this god thing so ingrained into them that at a subconscious level they are deathly afraid to turn away from their loving merciful god for fear of going to hell. Brainwashing is very effective. It can take years, if at all, for professionals to deal with corrupted minds.
I would bet that it is easier to hypnotize a theist than an atheist.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral.
