Does anyone else see this

RE: Does anyone else see this
There's a clear link between education and atheism. The more educated the country the more atheist.

Which is great news for the civilized educated people of the world looking for understanding and peace. As it has been for the for most of the last hundreds of year lesser developed countries are lagging (ie in Middle East, South America, Africa, Asia) or the more contentious (Eastern Europe, Southern US, central America) are lagging behind. However the trend set in Europe and starting to get there in northern North America should eventually filter down. This precedent has been set in history over the past few hundred years. Which is towards a secular mindset. Everything indicates that this is future right now as hard as it is for us now.

Step 1: Learn critical thinking (if necessary)
Step 2: Use critical thinking on religion
Step 3: Welcome to atheism!

The biggest problem is that hard core indoctrinated religious adults are completely unable to do this on a wide scale. That's why things like sunday school exist. Religions realized millennia or more ago what Hitler realized in Germany in the 40's is to get em young.

The only way to do it is give forming minds ALL the options (including all religions equal with atheism). Give them all options. If someone wants to be religious that's their choice. So long as they are not indoctrinated as 98% of religious people are these days. If complete exposure without pressure and education is combined that's when you see the die out of religious beliefs. To an extent it is seen already in Scandinavia, albeit still with still lots of family support indoctrination skewing the numbers.

Sad fact... really sad fact... i mean religion is more of bad thing than a good thing because of the affect it has on people.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

If children were properly and objectively educated about religion, and not indoctrinated, that would pretty much be the end of religion. Even a child is not going to make a free choice to believe horrific and blatantly untrue things of no benefit.

I do feel as though objective teaching, in place of indoctrination, would be a good thing. However, too many people would object that their religious freedom is being stolen from them. (Well, you're taking away your child's religious freedom by instilling lies in them from the moment they are born. Ever think of the children? No, you only think about yourself and your beliefs... *mini-rant at religious parents over*)
Another thing is that children have a lot more information available to them in these days, and as well as being exposed to more media, which is rather liberal. Even they're (we're?) being more exposed to things that traditionally go against religious teachings. For example, Disney Channel showed a lesbian couple as *gasp* friendly, and non-threatening. So, yes, I do see religion declining. Smile
