what makes me sick are self righteous people who only think of themselves and not what someone who is enduring pain for a furture of sickness and pain, all for their own sense of bent/warped 'morality.'
My hope for you is if you are ever in a situation like that, that soceity demands that you be made to stay alive no matter what. That way you can live out your 'morality' with pride.

I'd like to see 'parental negligence/stupidity' and a percentage of causes for child deaths. That poor kid.

Why don't more Christians take their own life then?
Because we have been tasked to seek and save the fat and faithless from themselves.

Good because that's Christianity is filled with self righteous people.
For one why let a child die :face-palm: because who knows you don't know if the child is going to get cancer again your not omniscient.

She obviously didn't feel that task. Isn't refusing treatment for a very treatable disease along the lines of intentionally letting yourself die? Doesn't seem very 'up to the task'.

Her death is being soapboxed as a an afront to humanity.
Our objection isn't that her wants weren't being met. Our objection is that an eleven year-old child is allowed to make life and death decisions with her parents' ignorant blessing.

You see, this is why I like having you around. You are a shining example of Christianity taken to its full logical conclusion.
oh, the irony...
What makes you think the parents were ignorant? Because you read an artical from some blog and think you have a full understanding of what is going on? Again I showed that her numbers per the artical were doctored... which means you do not even have an accurate view of her situation let alone enough info to judge those who did. That my friend is true ignorance.
If her parents and the doctors let her make this choice it was because a real recovery or real life was not likly.

Are you also saying that people who live long lives, give themselves life saving treatment, and die naturally of old age, don't go to heaven?
And if you aren't saying that, then this contention of yours is just more fucking useless defense of child neglect.
nope. What I am saying was maybe 'Jesus' gave her a glimps of the future and she decided to go home sooner rather than later.

And you know she's in for a future of sickness and pain so bad life won't be worth living how?

You are so quick to wish ill on people that it's a wonder your head doesn't explode when you scare quote other people's moral views in the same paragraph.
He's old enough to make his own decisions. He's not a child. That's the difference.
Grown-ups have every right to do make that kind of decision for themselves. But if the doctors say that if your kid gets the chemo she'll most likely pull through but she'll definitely die if she doesn't, you have to remember that you're the parent and you have to be more objective than a suffering, drugged child might be able to be. Everyone has a responsibility to give their child their best chance. It would be different if the odds were 90% against her surviving with treatment, letting her go might be the best thing for her. But the odds are greatly in her favor, if she gets the treatment. Her parents should back that. If she still needs treatment when she's of age and still wants to stop getting it, she can refuse then.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

So now you're not only in favor doctor assisted suicide but you'd like to see it available to children of all ages? Shame on you.
I guess one wide frame on the situation is that we are seeing evolution at work. A family made an unusual choice dictated by the primitive cultish beliefs they hold and as a result there will be one less offspring to carry forth their DNA.

One they do not give out cancer surviablity rates out like that. they plot them over a period of time with a reoccourance ratio. Like a 90% survivablity rate of 5 years with a 10% liklyhood of reoccourance. Those should have been the numbers she was given with acute lymphoblastic leukemia if she is under 15 and it is not bad. Because she was given a 75% (the rate of survivablity 50 years ago) chance it means the author of that slanted story wanted to omit she had a very high chance of getting it again when she was older which meant a lot more pain and a lot less surviveablity rate/ratio.

acute lymphoblastic leukemia was something I was looking at a few months back. Treatment is not good. They nuke your bone marrow and that means you have no amune system, (among a bunch of other blood related problems) so you have to live in a cancer ward till you recover (months.) Months of extreme pain and sickness may be too much if your just putting it off till later where there is only more pain and sickness..
Those numbers are crap? i mean that is a 11 year old child and she hasn't fully experienced life.
Keep going drysand your almost there...
If her life is nothing but needles Chemo, radition, and isolation wards till the cancer over takes her... when is it in your great and well expressed opinion that she will get to 'experience life?'
