This exact thing came up on another forum I visit (it's a hockey forum with a catch-all politics/religion section).
All I can get from it is that incest and rape were cool with god at that time, since it happened right after sky daddy destroyed the two cities for their wickedness and no punishment was given here. Some Christians try to wash it away with a trite "See, there has always been evil!" or something along those lines, but the story isn't presented as being a bad thing. It's just matter of fact in order to get the next generation of tribes onto the stage. Ultimately, it's just another example of how horrible that book is, and why it shouldn't be the cornerstone of one's belief system.

Well it must be right, its in the bible lol.
So Lot offers his daughters to be gang raped by the men of the town in order to protect a pair of angels. And his daughters get him drunk in turn and commit incestous rape upon his somnolent body(note that he wasn't so drunk that he couldn't get an erection, twice!)
But God thinks this arsehole and his whorish daughters are righteous. Ps don't forget that God turns Lots wife into a condiment for the apparently unforgivable sin of looking back. And the Christians wonder why we think they're stupid for believing this idiotic drivel. If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
Yeah, those and a lot of others, equally stupid.

Fucking father of the year, that guy.

Funny thing is, in all my years in church and on christian schools, I never heard this one or the one about Lot and the angels.
I suppose even most Christians find this bullshit and freaky. So it means they get to choose some verses that they approve off, tell you god is real "cause the bible tells you so". And leave out creepy shit like this. Mean whilst, everyone is still expected to believe these "good" stories about Noah and king Solomon and Jesus. How can they stand for their own religion, if they disregard so many features of their "holy" book? It is to say that even religious people can change their rules to whatever is best for them, isn't that convenient???
