(1) you're arguing for a generic Deist God instead of the very specific and preposterous Christian God.
(2) Atheists disbelieve every God claim they have examined, but they don't usually claim that God is impossible.

Well, I got derailed into discussing a "generic Deist God," but to me there is only one God, the very same as your "preposterous Christian God." I can't help but argue as though they are one and the same.

Most atheists deride, mock and scorn anyone who believes in a God of any kind. There is plenty of evidence here on the countless posts/threads that this forum is no different.

While I agree that most atheists don't really think the existence of God impossible, they certainly don't make any effort to make it seem that way.

He didn't sacrifice Himself to Himself. He did it for us - it was an expression of His love. And He was flesh and blood, so of course He could die...by your logic, neither can human beings die, because we are eternal beings as well.

I think we are getting caught up here either in semantics or miscommunication. All I mean is that to me, outside of the Christian God, there is only superstition and falsehood. To suggest that there is any other God than the Christian God is, to me what is preposterous.
