RE: 50 Shades of Grey; the movie
I did my time watching the first two movies of Twilight. I'll watch the third when I get my hands on some "Riftracks" and enough friends to mock it with me.

I'm glad someone else took the hit this time. Thank you.

Words can't express how glad I am that the woman I'm married to doesn't care for chick-flicks. I will never sit through another one ever again. I look back on when I was young and single and am amazed at all the boring things I did to get some payoff. If something ever happens to my wife, I don't imagine I'll ever meet anyone else. I just don't have the patience I used to.

Hey Creed, thanks for the review! I doubted I would see it. Maybe Netflix, I don't know, it sounds like I'd rather take a nap though. I have only heard bad things. I liked that you were thorough and covered the important points, like the level of acting.

A 'porn' movie with an uninteresting plot, whatever next.

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

CGI it.

I know for a fact that was done in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

Twilight made a lot of money. 50 shades of grey is a Twilight fanfic and it made even more money.
So... how much money would a 50 shades of grey fanfic make?
Is this some kind of a loophole? Is the quality reversely proportional to the amount of money made?

Either way, please please please no one let that happen.

Am I the only one that is completely unable to understand why this book is so popular? Even after watching people on television talk about it, I'm still not sure why anyone actually likes this book. All anyone ever says is that it's dirty. So fucking what? I mean, I have yet to see anyone say, "I like this book, and this is why."

Can someone explain this to me? I just don't get it.

Not only do I not get it either, my brain finds it impossible to process. I think I've become too good at blocking out the parts of life I don't like.

Years of practice being catholic, I guess.

Two words.

Puritan society.

Sex is taboo. Something that so glorifies sex, and in a way that panders (emphasis on panders) to the LCD of the female intimacy interest level sells like football sells to the LCD part of the male mindset.

Both pander to the dumbest parts of each gender.

And yes, if anyone reading this likes football, I'm calling you dumb. You like spending hours watching the glorification of physical prowess over intellectual prowess. You're dumb. Deal with it.

Lol, I like football, and I got a 35 on the math portion of my ACT(36 is a perfect score).

The LCD thing makes sense though. That seems to be what most pop culture strives for(I'm looking at you Michael Bay).
