Why I'm still not a Christian.

RE: Why I'm still not a Christian.
You are all horrible and should be ashamed!
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

No problem. I'll get right on that.

I am not a Christian for multiple reasons but the Op's number one has also occurred to me. I have known Christians to attribute god to finding a parking place or other mundane things. It is very self absorbed.

On the flip side, I had a young, homeschooler tell me thay he was among the worst of sinners. Because this young man was probably not a serial killer, I highly doubt he was the worst person that ever existed. So, on one hand the idea that a deity's life revolves around yours is egocentric but the whole idea of sin is very harmful.

Hypothesis #2: that something is an aspect of consciousness which includes me but is more than me. The totality of myself has an interest in my doings since it is inextricably tied up with me.

I wonder if #1 and #2 are actually any different - kind of like the glass half full or the glass half empty?

The focus on humans is what really differentiates Christianity from pantheism/panetheism IMO. Science says humans are not too different from animals, plants, rocks, etc. Science also suggests that life is not unique to Earth. But Christianity makes the whole story about humans.

Why I'm still not a Christian --

1) Still no evidence, still no credence.

2) Even if there was evidence of a deity, I've yet to see a Christian denomination I'd feel comfortable in.

Why I am still not a Christian? For the same reason why there hadn't been any real reason to be Christian before, only more so.

I wonder if you can catch being Christian from toilet seats or by watching too much porn?

No, but you can catch Christianity by masturbating without healthy sexual thoughts about fellow human beings.

I'm not a christian because the facts don't fit the fiction.
