Westboro Baptist Church Plans To Picket Leonard Nimoy's Funeral

He was friends with George Takei.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Or any other comments on it.I served in our military to defend the rights of the people, one of which is freedom of speech. Like some have said, it is discouraging that there are people like that, but free speech must be free else where is the line drawn and who draws it?
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

How is it legal? Because the Unites States constitution guarantees the rights of citizens to express their opinion - and that's what WBC does. Free speech isn't just for speech you like - in fact, popular speech doesn't need protection. The First Amendment is all about protecting dissent. That's what sets us apart from other countries. Good thing for us atheists too because without that protection, the Christian majority would declare us offensive and then we wouldn't be allowed to express our opinion in public.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

And I thought that these people have already given up.
They help secular America become the norm. These asshats make some of the more moderate people loath to be associated with Christianity, which is often the first step in being able to shake off the indoctrination.
