The concept of a third party taking away your autonomy in deciding who you have to forgive or not forgive is vile. One does not have to seek revenge when hurt, but no one should be forced to associate with others who hurt you. You can simply not deal with them and part company. The comic book bible version of forgiveness isn't about those involved, it is about giving attention to that third party. It is up to me who I have in my life, not a third party.

Thinking you have a magic bat phone to a cosmic security guard and especially basing this on an old book of myth, in our modern society, does not make you reasonable. It makes you delusional.
Asking me to take any antiquated myth seriously is like asking me to believe that Harry Potter explains air flight.
