It depends. If it is reported it would create a panic. Even if it was not reported, it would still be visually noticeable that at some point someone with a backyard telescope would figure it out. We will panic and still get wiped out.
Our biggest threat right now is ourselves with CO2 pollution, pollution in general, and divisive wars. Our planet has had 5 mass extinctions, and we know one of them was caused by a meteor. The planet will get struck again by either a comet or meteor again at some point, it is not a matter of if, but when.. All one has to do to know that is to look at the pock marked moon.

I am more afraid of all three of the gangs of god shortening the ride with their tribal beefs. All three have this stupid selfish sense of entitlement and "chosen people" motif that will allow them to falsely claim persecution when the reality is all they are saying is "If I cant have power no one can".

Moreso with Israeli Jews, but they really get the short end of the stick from right wing Christians. You expect Islam to attack them sure. But the "end times" motif Christians buy into puts Jews at limo driver status who are left outside the velvet ropes. Nice friend to use you like that. Wow I mean, you have to pretty sure you picked the right religion. Everyone says they are right, and they can't all be. So you only have a year to make absolutely sure you believe in correct one for no reason, and not a fake one.
