When will the Middle East become majority Atheist?

When will the Middle East become majority Atheist?

No I am not advocating that. Just because I state something true doesn't mean that I am in favor of doing it. It just means I made a true statement.

If I stated that the sun will go supernova and destroy the earth it doesn't mean I advocate it.

Sad.

Sad Indeed. Oh by the way, Hitler said the same about jews in "Mein Kampf".

Is it some sort of record to be Godwined by the 2nd page on this forum?

Or it might result in real trouble.

Your opinion of Islam and how to deal with it does not have the factuality of an astrophysical process -- never mind the fact that the Sun cannot go supernova. You'll actually need to demonstrate the "truth" of your premise. And the fact that you purport to present your opinion as "fact" is a form of advocacy, whether you realize it or not.

Nice attempt to cover your point with a sciency-sounding rationale, though.

If he doesn't like the comparison perhaps he could reflect on what he's really saying. Abaris did nothing wrong in pointing out what is a fact.

Sometimes folks need to have it pointed out.

I don't think you can nuke the faith out of people, though.

The Japanese were shocked into changing their way of thinking as a result of getting nuked. Not to say it would be the same for Arabs but it's possible.

They didn't surrender their religion, they surrendered the war.

It's hard to bomb them back to the stone age when many already have that mentality.

I would like to think ISIS have made at least some Middle Easterners wake the fuck up about their religion. You'd think surely it has.

Turkey is already a (relatively) secular Muslim country and some Muslim countries are (again, relatively) less austere and open to modernisation (I'm talking the maghrebi states excluding Libya, and Jordan, maybe a few others).

I can't see an atheist majority there in our lifetimes though, Islam is just too entrenched in the legal systems of those countries and holds too much power. Religion doesn't like relinquishing power.

Muslims also have to lose this "defend the image of Islam at any cost" mentality they currently have. If Islam is going to modernise and reform the way Christianity has, they have to start being more reflective and actively seek reform. That can't happen while any criticism of Islam is met with complete condemnation.

It's also hard to bomb atheists into believers.

Well, it's moving towards that direction. If the sects -sunna,shia,etc- kept on producing "twisted ideologies", the Middle East would soon blow because many people would not be able to handle.
Its hard to follow a sect that demands its follower to grow a beard forever, wear 1 type of clothes forever, never smoke or never befriend with non-Muslims.

Though, Islam is the true religion. If one followed the Quran, they shall find out by themselves. Like me, these Muslims exist, the ones who believe the faith was twisted in a scenario similar to that of the church.

So my answer would be..nope. Never. Knowing Arabic -which is the main native language in the ME- gives people access to the Quran's original text immediately. That would lead to more Muslims on the true faith.

I truly too wonder, when would all atheists become Muslims and finally see the truth..

I think you guys are showing an especial bigotry. First of all, historically, the growth of Islam was responsible for both great peace and great intellectual and cultural advancement. Islam has also traditionally been much more tolerant of Christianity than vice versa. Overall, it probably is, even today.

The problem is that generations of indiscriminately bombing brown people has made them mad. So has stealing their land and giving it to their religious enemies. The Persian countries in particular have a history of poetry, art, and wisdom that is rooted as strongly in their psyches as Islam is. I think Iran is likely to be one of the first countries to go completely secular.
