Well, at least Drich is. Me, I think there are plenty of ambient noises that could be mistaken for a human voice -- I've heard one or two, in the form of birds, before.

Why did Drich jump to the idea of a guardian angel anyway? The article doesn't say angel, it just says a voice. Among all the illogical things that could be believed, the folklore around a mother's ghost seems to fit the story more than an angel. I don't believe in ghosts, by the way and think that there is a more logical explanation but the mythology of ghosts seems to fit the story better than the mythology of guardian angels. Hell, a water spirit fits the story better than what religion has taught us about guardian angels. Drich, maybe you should become a Shintoist now.

So, a chain of cops, likely some paramedics, possibly on-lookers, where there's talking both in person and from various CB equipment, and we're supposed to believe that it's the voice of the mother's ghost or a guardian angel? While the 4 cops in question don't agree on the exact phrasing, and have a vested interest in trying to save the infant?

Man, it's almost as though people will hear what they want to hear in a situation like that. Which is, of course, impossible, since psychology is the work of the Devil.

Two thoughts: first, humans also have voices with which to call for help. You have no justification at all for saying guardian angel.

Secondly, based on your logic, your thread title could equally fairly be written "guardian angel sits and watches woman die, ensuring her baby grows up without a parent, and then continues to watch that baby suffer for more than half a day before human beings, evidently more moral than angels, came to her rescue."

What would you perfer? Disembodied voice saved baby? Disembodied voice watch as woman died, because no one around heeded the call? Is a disembodied voice any less miricualious than a guardian angel?

I'm still wondering how: the angel, assuming it was there, sat and watched for fourteen hours, and didn't intervene in any detectable way until rescue crews were already there, trying to rescue the baby. What did the angel actually do, beyond conveniently doing the bare minimum to confirm what Drich already believes to be true?

What would be the point, anyway? The angel didn't help or even set the rescue in motion. He(no idea what gender angels are supposed to be) just cried for help? What good does that do?

Sound carries over water. The rescuers could have heard someone from farther away and assumed it was the woman. This must have been a highly stressful, emotional rescue for the people who were at the scene

That's why I take pleasure in pointing to the story and three on scene witnesses (4 if you count the nbc story and the fisherman) who herd a woman's voice comming from the car. I know what you said and I know what you meant, but like it or not lax, your version does not fit the FACTS reported in the story.
