Right, me believing or not believing in an afterlife isn't going to change whether there in fact is one or not. And I can't take seriously the nonsense I hear about it, so unless I get any actual information about it I'm again helpless to do anything.

It can only be achieved by reading ; that what my answer would be (I swear I'm not talking riddles).
Pray that god guides you to the right path. Like "god..guide me to the right path, don't allow me to go astray of it". ----->btw this is not one of them "do'aa" used by muslim missionaries.
Then search. I read King James's bible -parts of it- and the Quran ; since it was rumored by many that they are the messages of god to us.
It's all about thoughts at the beginning ---> This crazy AtlasS2 is hearing voices ; you might think. I swear there are no external "voices" in my head.

judgement ; that is. For our actions.
Smaug
ah, I said "checking truths which aren't visible", time is a truth despite the methodology of counting, either it's a star or a watch sat to tick according to a certain format. Actually, the biological clock each of us have is one evidence on that. Time as a physical 4th axis of the 3D world is yes, only entity used to measure, rather as a physical truth ; we do know that even our universe has a clock ticking ; and that is it would stop when we reach the SMBH in the center of our galaxy.
So smaug, you assume that your actions are really that innocent ? that threat is foretold for a reason, and that is the hideous acts that sadly many humans commit. The concept of us, having armies and world wars is enough a reason that makes ya wonder, why such a threat exists.

Reading the bible and the Quran? Why should I read those? Because lots of other people make unfounded claims about them? Why no other holy texts?
I already know plenty about both books, certainly enough to know how much "truth" there is in them. The only emotions they bring out in me is disgust and hilarity. Oh and boredom.
What is praying, and how does it differ from saying or thinking something?

How has the infinity of possible gods been suddenly narrowed down to Yahweh and Allah? I think I missed that bit.

To me it's very naive to try to find answers for the questions of Nature in the Scriptures. The Sciptures are great historical and cultural documents and surely contain worldly wisdom at least contemporary to their times. But in no way they are nature fact books. Science is such a thing that fundamentally rejects dogmatism and any appeals to authority. Of course science itself isn't flawless and has been known to have periods of dogmatism but in the end it's mechanism is so that new ideas prevail if they are correct. It's also necessary for the scientific theories and hypothesis to be as simple as possible (Ockham's Razor principle) and it's nowhere simple to be trying to find actual research data in texts that naturally concentrate on social aspects and pay very little attention towards natural sciences and to add to it are rather vague.

How can you tell if an omnipotent God would create an afterlife for humans?
Omnipotence says nothing of motive.
